Julia Busfield represents individuals and businesses in all facets of insurance coverage disputes, including bad faith, construction defects, toxic mold and a wide variety of first and third party claims under personal and business insurance policies. As an appellate lawyer, she appears regularly before the state and federal appellate court and has handled over 50 reported decisions. She also has an extensive practice in the trial courts in all general areas of litigation, focusing heavily on matters of insurance coverage on behalf of the individuals and businesses, including homeowners, auto, business property, commercial liability, umbrella or excess policies. She is a member of the Arkansas and American Bar Associations, the ABA's Tort and Insurance Practice Section, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
Prior to the formation of this firm, Julia practiced with an insurance defense firm, representing insurance companies for over nine years. Before that, she was a staff attorney with the United States Department of Agriculture's Office of General Counsel, where she adjudicated tort claims and handled high-profile litigation on behalf of the Department in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. Julia began her legal career as a law clerk for the Arkansas Court of Appeals and as an instructor of legal writing and appellate advocacy for the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville.
In 1986, she earned her bachelor's degree from Hendrix College, as a recipient of the William C. Buthman Prize in Political Science. Julia attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, receiving her J.D. with honors in 1988, and her LL.M. in agricultural law in 1990.
TERRY DUGGER
Terry graduated with special honors earning a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and economics at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa, where he was a member of Tulsa Law Journal and Delta Phi Fraternity.
Terry is currently a member of the Arkansas and American Trial Lawyers Associations and the Pulaski County Bar Association. Having previously developed a successful insurance defense practice while with the Huckabay, Munson, Rowlett & Moore law firm from 1995 - 2004, where he was a partner when he left to form Busfield & Dugger PLLC, Terry is a former member of Trucking Industry Defense Association, Defense Research Institute and Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel.
His experience includes personal injury, tractor-trailer and automobile collisions, trucking law, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and compliance, contractual disputes, business litigation and insurance law. Terry is a skilled trial lawyer and has tried numerous jury trials throughout the state of Arkansas, both in Federal and State Courts.
